Contaminants
In the context of PortFIR portal, under the term “contaminants” all the chemical and microbiological food safety hazards will be considered.
This page will make available the data from all contaminants detected in food that were reported and uploaded on the portal.
The origin of this data will be:
- Official control plans of food, carried by the competent national authorities;
- Food industry;
- Scientific research outcomes.
The major data source will be the official control plans. This data sharing is a result of the cooperation between the national authorities under the scope of the data transmission to the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
